1. Original Name: Nora.
2. History: This variety is believed to be one of the peppers Columbus brought back from America and gave to the monks from the Monastery of Yuste (Spain) as a gift. The monks shared the seeds with their brothers from the congregation of La Nora. Now this variety is popular in Valencia.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Suitable for growing in a greenhouse and outdoors. Short bush, growing up to 1.6-2.3 feet (50-70 cm) tall.
4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to tie the longest stems.
5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits with elongated pointed tips slightly resembling flying saucers. Weight: 1-1.4 oz. (30-40 g).
6. Color: Dark red with red flesh.
7. Flavor Profile: Nora is an unusual pepper. The walls are thick, and the flesh is very firm. The fruits are sweet with a bright pepper flavor.
8. Culinary Use: These peppers are grown in Spain mainly for making extra red paprika. The pepper powder gives a red color to dishes and adds its flavor to them. The fruits can also be grilled.
