1. Original Name: Cherokee Rose.
2. History: Bred by Brad Gates (Wild Boar Farms, USA). A variation of the Cherokee Purple tomato. Introduced in 2018.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular or double truss.
The fruits have a fuzzy texture making their skin matte, smooth to the touch and velvety. You feel something unusual and exciting when you touch them!
4. Training Instructions: The bush can be trained to two or three main stems. Staking and pruning are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Flattened and round fruits. There can be shallow ribs near the stem end while the non-stem end is flattened and slightly concave. Weight: 7-10.6 oz. (200-300 g).
6. Color: Brown and olive-green near the stem end. The non-stem end turns dark red when ripe. The flesh is brown and bright red in a cut with a bloody tint. Very beautiful colors.
7. Flavor Profile: A bright and harsh taste combining sweetness and tartness. The fruits have thick, meaty and sugary walls and are soft inside with juicy seed cavities.
8. Culinary Use: Perfect for fresh salads, juices, sauces and canning.
