1. Original Name: Copia.
2. History: Developed by Jeff Dawson and named after Copia, the American Center for Food, Wine and the Arts (Napa, California, USA). A cross between Green Zebra and Marvel Stripe.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Tall bush, indeterminate, growing 6 feet (180 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss. 3-5 fruits per truss.
4. Training Instructions: The bush can be trained to one or two main stems. Pruning and staking are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Beefsteak fruits, sometimes with rare shallow ribs near the stem end. Weight: 7-10.6 oz. (200-300 g).
6. Color: A bright combination of golden yellow and red stripes. The flesh is yellow in a cut and red in the middle when fully ripe.
7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and slightly tart, very juicy and meaty. The flesh is sugary. Tomato flavor with a soft fruity aftertaste.
8. Culinary Use: Perfect for fresh salads, juices and sauces. Fruits do not keep well.
Copia has proved to be a stable variety and a heavy cropper with beautiful fruits.
