Tomato 'Emalia'
- Availability: In Stock
PACKAGING: Zip lock 12 - 15 SEEDS
1. Original Name: Emalia.
2. History: Originating from France. The originator is unknown. Selected from a cross between Lucky Tiger and Orange Walk.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Medium-size bush, growing up to 3.2-5 feet (100-150 cm) tall. Thin and knotted stem. Dark green regular leaf with small lobes. There are 5-7 fruits per truss. The bush is very thin both as a seedling and after transplanting but there is no need to worry as it is just the way it should be.
4. Training Instructions: No special pruning is required as it is enough to leave just the main stem and the first three or four suckers to become long stems at a later stage. It is recommended to remove suckers on the top of the main stem and extra stems. Staking is a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Long and neat icicle-shaped fruits with pointed hook-shaped tips. Weight: 0.5-3.9 oz. (15-25 g).
6. Color: Chocolate brown shading into green near the stem. The flesh is dark red in a cut.
7. Flavor Profile: Very sweet with pleasant tartness and fruity aftertaste. The walls are very meaty, firm and crisp – there are no cracks on the skin and the fruits can stay on the bush for a long time.
8. Culinary Use: Perfect for snacks and eating fresh above all. A good choice for canning whole tomatoes.
