1. Original Name: Korean Long.
2. History: It is most likely to originate from Korea. If you know anything about the history of the Korean Long variety you are welcome to provide this information in a comment at the bottom of this page.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing 6 feet (180 cm) tall. Climbing stem, narrow and bent regular leaves. Regular truss, 4-5 fruits per truss.
4. Training Instructions: Can be trained to two or three main stems. Pruning and staking are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Long pepper-shaped fruits with long nipples resembling a claw. Very beautiful. Weight: 5-9 oz. (150-250 g), sometimes up to 14 oz. (400 g).
6. Color: Crimson and pink. Crimson and pink in a cut as well.
7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and slightly tart, well-balanced. Mild tomato flavor. The flesh is sugary and meaty, and there are few seeds and little juice.
8. Culinary Use: Everybody loves this variety due to its universal nature. Perfect for very delicious salads. A good choice for paste, sauces and ketchup. Small fruits can be canned while the rest of the fruits can be used with fruits of other varieties to make a juice. Keep well but just for a few days after harvesting. No cracks.
