An heirloom variety. It used to be very popular in America.
1. Original Name: Bonny Best. This variety should not be confused with Big Girl. These are different varieties but people often get them confused. Big Girl is a variety with large ribbed fruits released by Burpee. Bonny Best has medium-size fruits.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse or outdoors. Cold tolerant. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing 5.2-6 feet (160-180 cm) tall. Regular stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, 5-6 fruits per truss.
4. Training Instructions: The bush can be trained to two or three main stems. Staking and pruning are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Smooth fruits of a typical round shape having no ribs. Weight: 3.5-7 oz. (100-200 g).
6. Color: Bright and intense red (both the skin and the flesh).
7. Flavor Profile: Pleasant taste being sweet and slightly acidic with a tomato flavor. The flesh is soft and sugary. The fruits are meaty and juicy enough.
8. Culinary Use: Perfect for salads. A good choice for canning whole tomatoes! Also a good choice for juices, paste and sauces. Keep well for a few days after harvesting. No cracks on the skin.
