Tomato "Sibirsky Khottabych"

1. Original Name: Сибирский Хоттабыч, or Sibirsky Khottabych (Siberian Khottabych).
2. History: Bred by tomato breeders from Siberia. That is why an advantage of this variety is its cold and fungi resistance.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good cropper in a green house but it produces a lot of fruit when growing outdoors as well. Tall bush, indeterminate, growing 6 feet (180 cm) tall. Thin stem, regular leaf. The truss is regular (in rare cases) or has a lot of stems in most cases, cluster type. 5-8 fruits per truss.
4. Training Instructions: It is preferable to train the bush to two or three main stems. Staking and pruning are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Elongated pear-shaped fruits being thin and long near the stem end and plum-shaped in the upper part. Weight: 3.5-7 oz. (100-200 g).
6. Color: Hot pink. Tends to have a green spot (later turning to yellow) at the stem end when there is a lack of nutrients.
7. Flavor Profile: Soft and gentle taste, slightly sweet. Tomato flavor. Sandy flesh, thick walls, not very juicy.
8. Culinary Use: For fresh salads and canning. A good choice for canning whole tomatoes! Perfect for drying, sun-drying or freezing. Keep well for up to one week after harvesting. No cracks on the skin.
Sibirsky Khottabych is a stable variety. Perfect for canning. Transports well.
